COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Diversity
The beauty of West Orange lies in the diversity of its residents.
In 2016,  Mayor Robert Parisi appointed Tammy as the Chairwoman of the West Orange Human Relations Commission (HRC). The HRC goal is to ensure fairness by developing and implementing programs and initiatives that encourage a positive and constructive dialogue within the township about diversity-related issues. The HRC hosts the Township's Annual Dr. MLK, Jr. Celebration each year, collaborates with community partners to host events, and sponsored the 1st Black Business Bloc Party in the Valley in August 2020.  As Councilwoman, this commitment continues.  In 2022, Councilwoman and Officer Karen Mango, WOPD LGBTQ lisaon, painted the steps of Town Hall Pride Flag colors for a historic first in West Orange.

Economic Development
Local economic development is essential to stabilizing our community.

As a TOP Producing Real Estate Broker for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices and a member of the West Orange Planning Board, Economic Development Commission, and Citizens Budget Advisory Committee for West Orange, Tammy has the experience to help support and promote economic growth and development in our town. The Planning Board reviews all planning applications for the Township with adherence to the master plan. The Citizens Budget Advisory Committee reviews the municipal budget to aid the administration in allocating community services and resources during the financial budgeting process. Tammy also serves on the NJ Supreme Court Fee Arbitration Committee.  This committee arbitrates disputes between clients and attorneys.

Currently serving on the Historic Preservation Commission, The West Orange Arts Council, and Municipal Alliance Committee as the Council liaison, these Boards meet monthly and support the administration's goals and agenda.

Education
Successful individuals and communities are sustained by the quality of their educational system.

A proud mother of children educated in West Orange (WOHS Class of 2015 and Class of 2021), Tammy has served in various capacities on Parent-Teacher Associations (PTA) and actively engages with the West Orange Board of Education as a Diversity Committee member.  The West Orange STOP Suicide  Advocacy Coalition actively supports promoting mental wellness to West Orange students during Suicide Prevention Month in September,  has co-sponsored a WOHS Volleyball game to promote Awareness with the WOHS Volleyball Team, and co-sponsored workshops at Roosevelt.

By working together, schools, families, and communities can prepare West Orange for a more promising future.
